Girls’ Night Out

Getting dressed up for a night on the town is always a great way to end the week! What is more fun than getting all dolled up for some quality time with your best gal pals? When I lived in Atlanta, getting dressed way easy. A night out meant silky dresses, sky high heels, and a set of falsies to finish the look. When I moved to D.C., I quickly learned that the Atlanta night out uniform looked pretty out of place, and was less than practical without curbside valet on every corner and chilly nights stretching into June. I still haven’t added flats to my night out ensemble, but swapped out silk dresses for silk tanks, skinny jeans, and more practical heels. This breezy tank layers well under a jacket for chilly evenings, but has a twist strap detail (similar to the straps on my wedding dress) for a little extra interest when worn alone. What are your favorite looks for a night out with the gals?

Not Just Southern Girls Love Double Pearls

Southern girls have long been known for their pearls, so I could not be more excited about the double pearl earring trend that is popping up everywhere. First seen from The House of Dior, the double pearl earring is actually a refined, chic twist on tribal jewelry. Fortunately, other brands have taken note and are offering more affordable versions of the haute couture trend. How do you double up on your pearls?

Childress Vineyards at Christmas Time

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! While home in North Carolina, Ted and I were able to spend time with both of our families. We also visited Childress Vineyards while it was still beautifully decorated for Christmas. We spent a lovely afternoon roaming the grounds, tasting the wine, and wrapped up our visit by taking in lunch at the bistro overlooking the vineyard.
