Getting dressed up for a night on the town is always a great way to end the week! What is more fun than getting all dolled up for some quality time with your best gal pals? When I lived in Atlanta, getting dressed way easy. A night out meant silky dresses, sky high heels, and a set of falsies to finish the look. When I moved to D.C., I quickly learned that the Atlanta night out uniform looked pretty out of place, and was less than practical without curbside valet on every corner and chilly nights stretching into June. I still haven’t added flats to my night out ensemble, but swapped out silk dresses for silk tanks, skinny jeans, and more practical heels. This breezy tank layers well under a jacket for chilly evenings, but has a twist strap detail (similar to the straps on my wedding dress) for a little extra interest when worn alone. What are your favorite looks for a night out with the gals?
Silk Tank (Banana Republic (old), similar style here) / Tweed Jacket (C. Wonder (old), similar style here and here) / White Jeans (on sale!) / Silver Pumps / Aviator Sunglasses (Kate Spade Outlet – store only) / Clutch (Elaine Turner via Bishop Boutique) / Ring and Necklace from Rocksbox (Thank you to Rocksbox for offering readers your first month free with code peoniesandproseccoxoxo!)
Maybe it’s the anticipation of the arrival of the new royal baby, my mom and sister’s upcoming trip to London, or the new episode of The Royals airing tonight, but I couldn’t resist this picturesque skirt of the London skyline at night. When studying abroad, I spent a week in London soaking up as much as I could from theatre to touring the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, Westminster Abbey, and anywhere else that might be considered Royal stomping grounds. I even did some shopping on High Street! All of this reminiscing is making me think it might be time to start planning my next vacation. Where are your travels taking you this summer?
