Q: Why name your blog Peonies & Prosecco?
A: Quite simply, they are two of my favorite things and just seem celebratory and fun. My tastes often change over time, but when I planned my wedding over 5 years ago, I simply insisted on pink peonies. Even though they had to be flown in and paint, my daddy made it happen. To this day, they are still my favorite flower, and my husband knows if he seems them at the store, being sold in the metro, at the market, etc. he better buy a bunch to bouquet to bring home. Prosecco is simply fun…who doesn’t love bubbles? When I was studying abroad in Venice, Italy, my professor sometimes thought I studied too much and some afternoon would insist that we go shopping. The trip almost always ended with chicchetti and prosecco…the Venetian version of happy hour!
Q: What do you write about?
A: Almost anything! Whatever I’m currently searching for, sampling, excited about, or inspired by. I realized that my friends often ask me about which products I use, which recipes I like, how I would go about planning something, etc. and decided to document and share my experiences. My interests and tastes often change with the seasons, but consistently trend towards trying the latest thing and staying classically elegant with a twist.
Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A: A glass of red wine (usually Zinfandel) and a bowl of popcorn with a magazine or two and the latest episode of Revenge.
